Freedom for your dogs to romp and swim - great for humans too! Are you tired of the decrease of open parkland and the ever increasing restrictions placed on dog owners? Well then, Walkhaven Dog Park was created with you and your family in mind! Walkhaven Dog Park is situated in the Muldersdrift area right next to the Cradle of Humankind on 22 hectares of rolling grassland. We also boast a fully stocked bass dam surrounded by lush wetland that is home to a large variety of our feathered friends. Braai and picnic facilities are strategically placed throughout the park should you wish to bring your own refreshments. What began as simply a safe place to walk has grown over the years along with you, our friends and customers. From a few plastic tables and chairs, a tiny wooden pub with slate verandah and kitchenette serving tea and sandwiches, Walkhaven has grown to include a full sundowner deck and pub and dog-friendly restaurant. Our function venue, Lapamanzi, has hosted many birthday parties, weddings and corporate events. The Walkhaven Kitchen now serves a lovely variety of dishes and snacks. Our boarding kennel facility, Jurassic Bark, has grown and now boasts 60 comfortable and spacious kennels. Our annual functions such as the Doggie Halloween and New Years Evening parties have become firm favourites with our regulars and members alike. Over the past years, with your assistance, Walkhaven has had the opportunity to help raise awareness and much needed financial support for the many animal welfare organisations and we remain committed to ongoing education and support. We hope you enjoy our Little Peace of Countryside Walkhaven is open 7 days a week for your convenience and enjoyment. Our restaurant, Walkhaven Kitchen and the Dog Box are now open Friday 2pm onward, all day Saturday and Sunday as well as Public Holidays 08h00 to 18h00. Entrance to Walkhaven Dog Park is R25 per adult and R15 for kids 2 to 12 and pensioners. For our regular visitors an annual membership to Walkhaven is available for only R450 per adult per year (kids free with parent members). Members enjoy free unlimited access to Walkhaven Dog Park as well as a 10% discount on kennelling and venue hire at Lapamanzi! |
